地球上的十大極限之地

NO.1 最熱的地方：伊朗盧特沙漠
地球上最熱的地方當屬伊朗境內的盧特沙漠，這裡的最高氣溫可達71攝氏度。對於到底哪裡是地球上最熱的地方，眾說不一。許多人認為是利比亞的阿濟濟耶，曾創下57.8攝氏度的最高記錄；美國加州的死亡山谷在1913年曾達到過56.7度，位居第二。但根據美國國家航空航天局的衛星監測記錄，在伊朗的盧特沙漠曾出現過71攝氏度的高溫。這片地區大概有480平方公里，被稱為“烤熟的小麥”。這裡的地表被黑色的火山熔岩所覆蓋，容易吸收陽光中的熱量。
NO.2 距離地心最遠點：厄瓜多爾青坡拉索山
位於厄瓜多爾之中西部的青坡拉索山海拔6310米，離世界最高峰珠穆朗瑪峰(8848米)還有一定的差距，不過，青坡拉索山的頂峰卻是世界上距離地心最遠的點。這是因為地球並不是一個規則的球，而是一個扁球體，最寬處為赤道。青坡拉索山就位於赤道以南1度的位置，因此它的頂峰與地心距離最遠(6384公里)，而珠穆朗瑪峰距離地心6382公里。
NO.3 距離大陸最遠的群島：英屬特里斯坦-達庫里亞島
英屬特里斯坦-達庫里亞島，位於大西洋南部，距離最近的大陸非洲大陸2816公里。其中最大的島嶼也小的可憐，連一條飛機跑道都容不下。島上的居民公272人，有8個姓氏。哮喘和青光眼兩大遺傳病一直以來困擾著島上的居民。
特里斯坦-達庫里亞群島在19世紀併入英國領土，一直以來採用的是英國郵政編碼，不過，如果島上的居民在網上“拍下”東西，通常要好久才能收到。可見，擁有自己的小島也 有利有弊。
NO.4 最高的瀑布：委內瑞拉天使瀑布
天使瀑布位於委內瑞拉東南部、卡羅尼河的三角洲處，當地的印第安人取名為“出龍”。天使瀑布是名副其實的“飛流直下三千尺”(落差3230英尺，約合985米)。
NO.5 人類居住最寒之地：俄羅斯奧伊米亞康
奧伊米亞康是位於西伯利亞東北部因迪吉爾卡河上游，俄羅斯奧伊米亞康盆地的村莊，人口約為800人，是北半球“寒極”之一。 12月至次年1月，晝夜平均氣溫均低於零下45攝氏度。 1926年曾創下零下71度的記錄。
人類記載的地球上最低氣溫是零下89.4度，於1983年在俄羅斯南極站所測量到的。
NO.6 最乾燥的地方：南極“乾穀”
“乾穀”位處南極的內陸地區，兩百多萬年以來，這裡都沒有過降水。 “乾穀”形成的原因在於“焚風”，時速300公里的“焚風”掠過，冰雪很快昇華變成水汽，並被風帶走。除了幾塊陡峭的巨石上有冰雪外，“乾穀”這裡的地面都是暴露在外的，是南極大陸唯一沒有被冰雪覆蓋的地方。
智利的阿塔卡馬沙漠也是有名的干燥之地，有些地區已經幾個世紀沒有下雨了。
NO.7 海洋的最深處：馬里亞納海溝
馬里亞納海溝位於菲律賓東北、馬里亞納群島附近，深達10,924米。
NO.8 最潮濕的地方：哥倫比亞的Lloro
哥倫比亞的Lloro是地球上最潮濕的地方，這裡年平均降水超過12米；對於到底哪裡是地球上的“最濕之地”，也有過討論。之前好多人認為印度東北部的乞拉朋齊應得此冠，但11 米的年均降水量確實距哥倫比亞的Lloro還有差距。不過，哥倫比亞的降水分佈在全年，相對平均；而受季風的影響，乞拉朋齊的降水集中在六月到八月，1861年7月，僅僅一個月內，這裡就降雨9.3米，也是一項了不起的紀錄。
NO.9 最高的垂直峭壁：加拿大托爾山
加拿大的奧伊特克國家公園內托爾山，山體由花崗岩構成，山側面的峭壁高達1250米。 1953年才首次被北美北極研究院的登山隊征服。近年來，也有些人來玩懸垂速降，2006 年有一人葬身於此。
NO.10 海拔最低點：死海

諗起瀑布報上寫個國家要花錢申錢排名, 有些為省錢都沒去申請, 個統計唔知準不準啦!
