札幌雪祭每年2月在北海道首府札幌舉行，為期一週。今年第六十一屆的雪祭將於2月5日到2月11日之間舉行。

札幌雪祭於1950年開始，當時有幾個高中生在大通公園製作了一些雪雕作品。從此就演變成這個大型的商業活動，其中展示大型的雪雕和冰雕作品，並吸引200萬名來自日本及世界各地的遊客參與。

雪祭在札幌市共有三個會場：大通會場、薄野會場和Tsudomu會場。

主要會場是位於札幌市中心長1.5公里的大通公園的大通會場。雪祭知名的大型雪雕作品都會在此會場展示，有的高15公尺、寬25公尺。此地的雪雕作品每天會點燈至晚間10點。

除了十幾座大型的雪雕作品外，大通會場展示超過100座小型的雪雕及冰雕作品，也會舉行數場音樂會和活動，這些活動許多都以雕刻作品作為舞台背景。

從札幌電視塔可俯瞰大通公園的美景，電視塔位於公園東端，在雪祭期間的開放時間是上午9點到晚間10點半（週末則從上午8點半開始）。到瞭望台露台的成人入場費為700日圓。

薄野(Ssukino)會場位於札幌最大的娛樂區中，並也以此為名，這裡展示約100個冰雕作品。薄野只距大通公園以南一個地鐵站。 冰雕每天點燈到午夜（雪祭的最後一天則只到晚間10點）。

Tsudomu會場有滑梯及多個讓小孩滑雪的區段。其中也展示一些小型的雪雕作品，每天從上午9點開放到下午5點。
