我小時還未有雞蛋仔，但記憶中，民間小食遠比現時豐富。 譬如夾餅，很像雞蛋仔卻比雞蛋仔味道多層次。那也是用雞蛋麵糊，倒進圓形鐡模裡烙的，烙得外脆內軟快要熟透的時候，灑上一大把碎花生、白砂糖、芝麻，甚至椰絲，然後用刀把大圓烙餅一分為二，叠成半圓形的三文治，再分成一份份賣，又香又甜又脆又燙熱，份量十足，可以當一餐。 到了冬天，最受歡迎的是湯丸。小販燒開一大窩用片糖和老薑煮成的糖水，搓好一大團糯米粉做的粉糰，另一盤切成小粒的黃片糖，迅速將粉糰揑成小丸子，中間塞一粒片糖，隨手丟進糖水裡，煮熟了會自動浮面，黏軟的湯丸，薑味香濃的滾熱糖水，份外刺激。 還有油條、咸煎餅、牛脷酥、笑口棗一類的油器。儘管是傳統食品，但每檔各有自己的秘訣，顧客認準了自己喜歡的一檔幫襯。 以前[url=]沙田
[/url]還是一個風景區的時候，假日遊人特多，沿街一檔接一檔的小食可多了。最著名的當然是油炸的豆腐，其次是以蘿蔔絲為餡的油糍（也不知是不是這個寫法），還有蝦餅、以及蝦米蔥花米漿煎成的薄餅。
但我最懷念的是小學四年級，在舊校旁的大排檔九記的炭爐烘多士，那種風味，根本無法用其他製法代替。還有一檔豬腸粉：一毫兩條，比別人的腸粉纖小，但也特別軟糯，用米漿當場蒸製，揭開蓋子，蒸氣上升，令人食指大動。

同意 其實格仔餅比雞蛋仔好食好多!!!!!
但雞蛋仔可以幾個人食囉

    炭爐.... 依家應該好難搵到LU... 我都無食過.....

    我都唔明~點解以前既小食~周街都勁好食~依家反而周街都麻麻地....特別係D小食~真係難食左好多!

    應該點講呢, 用旦同面粉撈埋然後炸脆, 外面包層糖漿.......{:3:} 好正架
